The presentation will cover: Food security and India’s place in the 2020 world hunger map;
India’s Green Revolution, complacency and stagnant crop yields; Current food production
and per capita food availability in India; Population projections and future food needs in
India; Possible ways to increase crop yields to meet the future food needs in India; Need for
the Agricultural Universities to develop innovative technologies and strengthen Teaching,
Research and Extension; Need for the Government to continue investment in agriculture and
market support.
