
The Borlaug Institute led the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Small Scale Irrigation from 2013–2023, conducting research on the benefits and risks of expanding smallholder irrigation, and the high-potential approaches to support increased use of irrigation, in Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to supporting student research, the program also produced hundreds of publications, technical notes and guides, and project reports.
