Biography

Pal Brahmbhatt is a Program Manager at the Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture and Development. With over seven years of experience in international development, Pal specializes in managing large-scale donor-supported initiatives, particularly those focused on women’s empowerment, humanitarian response, and education in crisis settings.

Currently, Pal manages a $50M USAID-funded education initiative aimed at advancing higher education opportunities for Afghan women in the Middle East. In this role, she is responsible for strategic program management, donor compliance, and the successful implementation of complex projects in politically challenging environments.

Before her role at the Borlaug Institute, Pal founded Prayas, a grassroots initiative in Ahmedabad, India, that supported over 340 marginalized women and children through education and vocational training. Her work in Prayas focused on securing funding, building partnerships, and leading teams to ensure effective community-based services.

Pal holds a Master’s in Public Service and Administration from Texas A&M University, specializing in Nonprofit Management and Women, Peace, and Security. Fluent in multiple languages, she is committed to advancing women’s roles in peacebuilding and development globally
