Programs in Asia

The Borlaug Institute has a proven commitment to cooperation throughout Asia.  These regions of the world have rich agricultural histories.  The majority of the world’s population and the corresponding agriculture wealth are spread across this region.

Dr. Borlaug was renowned for his work in India, Pakistan, and China.  The Borlaug Institute has long-standing agriculture research and development partnerships throughout Asia.  Focused regional cooperation in agriculture development will assist with meeting these challenges.  The Borlaug Institute intends to be a long-term partner in the region and will leverage the considerable agriculture teaching, research, and extension resources of the Texas A&M University System.

The Borlaug Institute has much experience in Southeast Asia including active partnerships with universities, government ministries and international corporations.  In addition, China is a global leader in agricultural biotechnology research and has advanced technology production systems for rice cultivation and livestock production.  The Indian sub-continent is the nexus of Borlaug’s green revolution and today is the source for exciting new developments and agricultural science.

The Borlaug Institute will continue to broadly collaborate across Asia.  Please contact us with questions on any of our programs below or other engagements in Asia.
