Centers and Programs

The Borlaug Institute is engaged in a variety of activities critical to international agricultural development.

  • Global Food Security: international extension; collaborative global research; technology transfer; nutrition and food sciences; enhanced livelihoods.
  • Human and Institutional Resources Development: cooperator training and institution building; internships; study abroad & reciprocal exchanges; teaching abroad.
  • Institutional Cooperation: international development and project management; agribusiness and trade; technology development and intervention; information systems; environment and natural resources.

Programs and Extension - Descriptions of the various foreign operations, extension offices, and development programs where the faculty and staff of the Texas A&M University System are making contributions to food security and economic growth.

Centers - The programmatic focus areas of the Borlaug Institute to increase international development scholarship and provide practical solutions to meeting the challenges faced by agriculture and rural development.

Research - International agricultural research is a necessary component to successful development efforts.  The Borlaug Institute and the Texas A&M University System value our research partnerships with other agricultural colleges, international research centers, and development organizations.

Partnerships - Productive partnerships are necessary for meaningful improvement in international agriculture.  The Borlaug Institute values its partners and seeks to expand its linkages with like-minded organizations.
