Armenian State University for Agriculture Curriculum Development

The larger goal of this multi-year effort is to assist the Armenian State Agrarian University (ASAU) in the development of a strategic plan and in the transition to a European-style university. Specific project objectives include (1) Supply timely technical assistance for the transition to an EU-type credit system; (2) enhance the sustainability of the Agribusiness Teaching Center and assist the university in developing a fund-raising organization; (3) create a stronger climate for faculty recruitment, development and retention. This activity may include the development of new curricula, courses, research programs, and study activities to attract agricultural graduates to pursue a teaching career; (4) develop a restructuring plan for ASAU extension education that includes optimization of work of “Agrogitaspiur” Extension Department and The Chair of Agrarian Consultancy & Information; and (5) identify innovative approaches to providing higher education that have been effective in transforming agricultural state universities.
